Schneider Electric plugs into solar power
Schneider Electric India is eyeing a 25-30 per cent growth in its solar business in the next two years. The energy technology company plans to supply equipment for mini and micro grids such as inverters and charge controllers to companies taking up projects to provide electricity in Indian villages.
“With the national mission for solar power capacity addition in the country, we are very optimistic about growth with micro and mini-grids,” said Anurag Garg, vice-president (solar business) of Schneider Electric India.
He said micro and mini grids were the most efficient means to provide electricity to rural India. “The government has announced plans to provide electricity to 18,500 villages by 2019, of which electrification of over 7,000 villages is complete. We are hoping to participate in the electrification process of the rest of the villages,” said Garg. Read More…
